It can be totally normal for the ice in your Ceres Chill to melt after about 7–8 hours. In fact, that’s exactly what it’s supposed to do! When you first pack the chiller with ice, the ice starts working right away by pulling heat out of your milk. As it does that, it naturally melts, because that’s how it uses its “cooling power.”
So if you open your Ceres Chill and see melted ice, don’t worry. It could just mean that the ice has been busy keeping your milk nice and cold, the cooling power has transferred into your milk like it should, and that everything is working the way it’s designed to!
Melted ice = happy, safely chilled milk! In rare cases, a bismuth seal can be compromised, which may affect how well the chiller holds temperature, but this isn’t common. If your ice is melting this fast with no milk in your chiller, please reach out to us at info@cereschill.com. We want to make sure you love your chiller.
Best,
Rachel
