From a small spark...burst a mighty flame

Megan

"I pumped for my NICU baby for the 49 days she was there, nursed her in the NICU once we were allowed, and now that we are home, I’m triple feeding her to help her get on the growth curve—nursing, bottles of fortified breastmilk, and pumping for the next day. However, doing all this work isn’t what makes me an amazing mom. What makes me an amazing mom is that through this unexpected and difficult NICU journey, I am showing grace to both my daughter and myself. Our breastfeeding journey is one I never imagined we would have and it’s been tough, but in every isolated pump session, clunky latch, and half-asleep bottle, I’m surrendering to the process and allowing both of us the room to heal, learn, and just be exactly where we are."

Mia

"We’re first time parents and our daughter came into this world at 30 weeks old. She was in the nicu for 5 weeks and every day we spent every waking moment we could with her. Being active duty military and re-enlisting for 4 more years with our newborn daughter in her arms was the hardest decision I had to make for our family."

Krista

"We transferred our last female embryo in September of 2023, and in May of 2024, at 36 week’s gestation, I delivered a tiny, but healthy baby girl! She spent 12 days in the NICU before coming home but was overall healthy. I am proud that I was able to pump around the clock those first 12 days ensuring my milk supply was able to meet her needs while in the NICU and when she came home. Being able to provide her with breastmilk during such a difficult time was such a relief for me, as it was the only thing I felt I could do to help her while she was in the NICU.

I often reflect back on all I’ve overcome to get here and I am proud of my strength."

Jasmine

"Despite the obstacles life has thrown at me, I want to show my little one that he can achieve any dream. Already, he has shown his strength and determination in life and graduated from the NICU. I love my little honey bear. I’m beyond blessed to be his mother and I hope he will forever be proud to call me Mom."

Katherine

"My sister is a single mom on a single income, raising 2 kids - a 2 year old son and a 5 month old daughter. She’s amazing for having held it together when daughter Kaili was born 2 months premature and spent 2 months in the NICU. I watched her from day 1 while still recovering from her c-section, in the hospital, pumping to feed Kaili and subsequently, bringing milk to the NICU everyday for the 2 months baby was still hospitalized."

Jessica

"Jessica is an amazing mom because she can truly do it all! She's been a NICU mom twice and got her master's degree while pregnant and having her first baby. She was also teaching and helping other moms and families in between taking care of her own family!"

Myrom

"This mama is pumping at work full time and nursing when she is home. Our baby was a NICU baby for the first three weeks of life. She had to go back to work one week after being home. I, her husband, am a disabled veteran so I watch the baby and our family of 6 while she’s at work. She is literally working around the clock every single day!"

Diana

"Diana works as a postpartum nurse. She worked her entire pregnancy up until less than a week before. She was sent by ambulance to the hospital and then needed an emergency c-section because they couldn’t find baby’s heart rate. Baby had surgery at 2 days of life and spent 20 days in the NICU. Diana has been nonstop caring for her warrior baby since coming home and the hospital."

Stevie

"I have identical twin boys in the NICU and have been exclusively pumping the last month. They were born at 31 weeks because I developed Hellp syndrome. They are doing well but still not nursing or bottle feeding strong. We are looking at another month in the NICU it seems. The reason I’m submitting myself for the Hero Mama Giveaway is just because I could really use a Chiller. We have 5 other kids and today we were out all day for football for another kid. Sadly all of today’s pumped milk got too warm in the traditional cooler and gel ice pack method. This has been an expensive year with trying to make room for two surprise very special boys and the entire pregnancy was high risk and at times stressful then the delivery and still in theNICU. I’m just a normal mom trying to be there for all my kids."

Paige

"My baby boy was put in the NICU a couple days after he was born and didn’t get to come out until the day we got to go home. I was planning on breastfeeding him but he had a hard time latching on due to a tongue tie. I am doing the best I can to be the best momma I can be for my little guy."

Crystal

"Seeing my baby grow by just breastfeeding is so motivating and rewarding. My baby was a NICU baby and is now a 12 pound baby!"

Courtney

"I was pregnant with twins and gave birth to both 2 days apart. One passed away, and the other had a very long NICU stay where I exclusively pumped and realized I had an oversupply to which I started donating on top of feeding my little guy. From when I had him to my current 2nd baby I have donated over 15,000 oz to help other NICU babies because I know it’s quite the battle. We visited little dude nightly, switching off skin to skin EVERYDAY. He is now 3 years old and not 1 medical issue. Damon is our miracle fighter."

Rachel

"During my son’s time in the NICU, pumping became a crucial part of my routine—it was one of the few ways I could actively care for him while he healed and grew stronger. The long days, middle-of-the-night pumps, and unpredictable schedule meant I needed a reliable way to store and transport my milk, and the Ceres Chill was a game-changer. It kept my milk safe, whether I was at the hospital, on the go, or pumping in the quiet hours of the night. Knowing I could provide for my baby no matter where or when brought me comfort during such a challenging time.brought me comfort during such a challenging time."
